The Cloud That Learned to Slow Down
High up in the quiet evening sky lived a little cloud named Puff.
Puff was not like the other clouds.
He was always rushing.
He rushed past the moon.
He raced the wind.
He floated faster than the birds could fly.
“Slow down, Puff,” the older clouds would say gently.
But Puff laughed.
“If I move fast, I’ll see everything!” he said.
🌬️ Too Fast to Feel
One night, the sky was painted in deep blue, and stars twinkled softly.
Below, children were climbing into bed, yawning and stretching.
Puff zoomed across the sky so quickly that he didn’t notice the stars blinking at him…
or the moon smiling kindly.
Suddenly — whoosh!
Puff felt tired.
Very tired.
“I don’t understand,” Puff sighed.
“I move so fast… but I feel empty.”
🌙 A Gentle Lesson from the Moon
The Moon drifted closer, glowing warm and calm.
“Little cloud,” the Moon said softly,
“have you ever tried moving slowly?”
Puff blinked.
“Slowly?” he asked. “Why?”
“So you can feel the night,” the Moon replied.
☁️ Learning to Slow Down
Puff took a deep breath.
He let the wind carry him gently.
He floated instead of racing.
He softened his edges and moved calmly across the sky.
Something magical happened.
Puff felt the cool night air.
He heard lullabies rising from below.
He saw children smiling in their sleep.
For the first time, Puff felt peaceful.
🌧️ A Gift of Comfort
As Puff floated slowly, he noticed a little house where a child was tossing and turning.
Carefully, Puff stretched himself wide and released a soft, sleepy rain — not loud, not cold — just gentle drops tapping the window.
Tap… tap… tap…
The child smiled and drifted into sleep.
Puff smiled too.
💫 The Happiest Cloud
By morning, Puff felt lighter than ever.
He hadn’t rushed.
He hadn’t raced.
Yet he felt full of joy.
From that night on, Puff still traveled the sky —
but slowly, kindly, and calmly.
And whenever children hear soft rain at night,
they know Puff is floating by…
helping dreams feel safe.
🌼 Moral of the Story
- Slowing down brings peace
- Rest is just as important as movement
- Calm moments help others feel safe
