A Gentle Journey to Sleep
The Moon Who Couldn’t Sleep
High above the quiet world, the Moon was wide awake.
Everyone thought the Moon slept during the day and worked only at night — but that night, the Moon felt lonely.
“I light the sky for everyone,” the Moon sighed,
“but no one asks if I am tired.”
Below, a little village was falling asleep. Windows went dark. Crickets sang softly. The world grew calm.
All… except the Moon.
🌌 A Small Light Below
Suddenly, the Moon noticed a tiny light glowing in one window.
Inside the room was a small girl named Lily, hugging her teddy bear.
“I can’t sleep,” Lily whispered.
“The night feels too quiet.”
The Moon smiled gently and shone a little brighter, sending a silver beam through Lily’s window.
Lily looked up.
“Hello, Moon,” she said softly.
“You look lonely too.”
🌙 A Quiet Friendship
Every night after that, Lily and the Moon shared secrets.
Lily talked about her day.
The Moon listened patiently.
The Moon told stories about stars, clouds, and dreams floating in the sky.
Lily closed her eyes, smiling.
Slowly, Lily drifted into sleep.
And for the first time in a very long while…
the Moon felt peaceful too.
🌠 Sleep Came Gently
As Lily slept, the Moon whispered:
“Good night, little friend.
Thank you for staying with me.”
The Moon dimmed its light, resting quietly in the sky, knowing it was no longer alone.
That night, both the Moon and Lily slept sweetly — wrapped in silence, stars, and dreams.
